Yuzvendra Chahal has wasted no time reigniting his magic in the 2025 County Championship, delivering a ripper to clean bowl the batter and give Kent an early jolt.
With Kent reeling at 29/2, Chahal’s brilliance was on full display as he drifted one in, got it to dip beautifully, and then spun it sharply to crash into off stump — an absolute peach that left the batter stunned and spectators in awe.
Back with Northamptonshire for a second consecutive season, Chahal’s impact has been immediate.

He’s expected to play a key role for Northants in both red- and white-ball formats through the end of the season.
Last year, Chahal made headlines with a career-best 9/99 against Derbyshire, and he already seems intent on topping that.
His 2024 stint saw him finish with 19 wickets in just four first-class matches at an average of 21, making him one of the standout bowlers in the championship.
His match-winning spells helped Northamptonshire clinch important victories late in the season and earned him praise from all corners of the dressing room.
"I thoroughly enjoyed my time here last season, so I’m very happy to be coming back,” Chahal said before his return. "There are some great people in that dressing room, and I can’t wait to be part of that again. We played some great cricket towards the back end of the season, so hopefully, we’re able to replicate that and big up some victories.”
