Ahmed Khan paid heartfelt tribute to his mentor, the legendary
Saroj Khan, on her death anniversary. The iconic choreographer passed away on 3 July 2020, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire generations of artists.
Ahmed, who began his journey as a background dancer under Saroj Khan’s guidance, recalled the profound impact she had on both his career and personal life. “She was like a mother figure to me, and I have known her since I was a child. She always took care of me on sets and treated me like a son. Losing her was very personal, and there isn’t a day when I don’t miss or remember her. She was and always will be family,” he shared.
A bond beyond dance Ahmed Khan’s association with Saroj Khan started during the filming of
Mr. India. Their bond grew over the years, and her mentorship played a crucial role in shaping his path as a choreographer and director. He even stepped into Saroj Khan’s shoes during
Rangeela due to her unavailability, a testament to the trust and professional bond they shared.
