.. Day 1, Session 2...

Hasan Mahmud looked good with the ball in the hand. He got the ball to swing both ways but South Africa negotiated him well. Taijul Islam and Mehidy Hasan got the odd balls to turn but apart from that there was not much for the hosts. Bangladesh certainly knows they have to work hard on this pitch for breakthroughs. It won't come easy and the Proteas won't let it slip easily as well. South Africa on the other hand will hope Stubbs and Tony de Zorzi build a huge partnership and take control of the innings. That will be Lunch! A solid first session for South Africa as they have scored 109 runs by losing just one wicket. They opted to bat first and have done well so far. Aiden Markram and Tony de Zorzi started with a positive intent. They scored runs regularly and made Bangladesh work hard for the breakthrough. In the first hour only one chance was created, Hasan Mahmud bowled in the channel but Tony de Zorzi survived as the keeper dropped it to his left. Taijul Islam though chipped in with the big wicket of Markram but apart from that it was all South Africa.
