The captain of Mumbai Indians - Harmanpreet Kaur says that they wanted to bowl only, and she is glad they have got that opportunity. Adds that it will be important to start well in the Powerplay and get a few early wickets. Mentions that every day is a new day, and she knows that they have a good record against GG, but they have to do it all over again, as this is a new game. Informs that they are going with the same team as well.

The skipper of Gujarat Giants - Ashleigh Gardner says they have done well when batting first and want to lay down a marker on the game again. She describes this match as essentially a quarter-final and stresses the importance of doing both disciplines well. Adds that they want to set the game up with the bat. When asked about their winless record against MI, she replies that the past is in the past and the focus is firmly on the present. Gardner reflects on the positives taken from the last game despite the defeat against Mumbai, as well as the encouraging signs shown across the season. She calls it a great opportunity for the group.
