'We are back': Emotional Dhoni on Chennai Super Kings' IPL return

NEW DELHI: 'Captain Cool' Mahendra Singh Dhoni got emotional while speaking about the return of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to the Indian Premier League (IPL) after two years. "We are back! We are back as a whole team," an emotional Dhoni was seen speaking in a brief video shared on Twitter. Dhoni, who is known for his calmness on and off the field, showed a side which is a rarity for the former India captain. In the said video, Dhoni was seen addressing a crowd and had to take few pauses during the speech. In the 42-second long clip, Dhoni said: "What's important is to go through everything with a smile on your face....but what's next is what is important for us. We are back, we are back as a whole team. Thanks to all the sponsors..." Dhoni's long-time CSK teammate Suresh Raina was also seen offering his captain a bottle of water.One of the most successful teams in the IPL, CSK were suspended for two years after being involved in a spot-fixing controversy but are making a comeback in this year's edition of the league.A week ago, the once formidable on and off-the field cricketer-administrator pair of Dhoni and N Srinivasan were spotted having an interaction at the Chepauk during CSK's training session. With most of the players touching base, CSK had a full-fledged training session under the watchful eyes of assistant coach Mike Hussey and bowling coach Lakshmipathy Balaji. Skipper Dhoni was joined by Raina, Vijay, Jadeja and Ambati Rayudu among others.
