'Salary toh inki aa jaati hai lekin...': Former India batter hands reality check to Glenn Maxwell

NEW DELHI: Royal Challengers Bengaluru always boast of international stars but they often falter to click when the team needs them the most. A glaring instance from the IPL 2024 season is the underwhelming display of Glenn Maxwell, whose contributions failed to meet team's expectations.
RCB have lost three out of their four IPL games this season with Maxwell only contributing only 31 runs so far in four innings.Skipper Faf du Plessis also failed to make any impact managing just 65 runs in four games.

Former India cricketer Manoj Tiwary didn't hold back in criticizing Maxwell for his disappointing performances. Drawing a comparison with Anuj Rawat, Tiwary pointed out that while Rawat's struggles can be understood as he is an emerging cricketer, the consistent underperformance of established players like Maxwell is perplexing.
"RCB ko hamesha dekha gaya hai ki ek batting-heavy team hai lekin iss samay na ballebaaz run bana rahe hain aur na bowlers ubhar kar aa rahe hain. Aur aap dekhein middle-order mein Anuj Rawat, phele match itni badiya performance rahi thi unki lekin temperament wise vo innings ko pace nahi kar paa rahe hain.(RCB have always been considered a batting-heavy team but their line-up has failed to deliver. Neither their batters are getting runs nor their bowlers are performing good. In the middle order, batter like Anuj Rawat has not put up a good show after playing a good knock in the first match,") Tiwary told Cricbuzz.
