NEW DELHI: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), still in pursuit of their first IPL title despite boasting some of the best T20 talent over the years, are heading into the 18th season with a refreshed squad. The franchise made strategic moves at the IPL auction held at Jeddah's Abadi Al Johar Arena in Saudi Arabia, assembling a team they hope will finally secure the coveted title.
Before the auction, RCB chose to retain only three players Virat Kohli (INR 21 crore), Rajat Patidar (INR 11 crore) and Yash Dayal (INR 5 crore) and had INR 83 crore left in their purse for shopping, which was the second-highest remaining purse among the 10 franchises.

They also brought in Indian wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma for ₹11 crore, adding depth to their batting lineup.
On the bowling front, RCB re-signed Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood for ₹12.5 crore, strengthening their pace attack with a familiar face. Additionally, they added Indian spinner Suyash Sharma to their squad for ₹2.60 crore, enhancing their spin options.
Each franchise had INR 120 crore before the retention window.
