NEW DELHI: The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are setting their sights on a record fourth IPL title to further cement their legacy. They secured their third championship in 2024 with a dominant 8-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad under Shreyas Iyer’s leadership. However, Iyer, who guided the team to glory in the 17th season, has not been retained for IPL 2025.
Ahead of the auction, KKR retained six players, including Rinku Singh (Rs 13 crore), Varun Chakravarthy, Sunil Narine, and Andre Russell (Rs 12 crore each), along with Harshit Rana and Ramandeep Singh (Rs 4 crore each). This left them with a healthy Rs 51 crore purse but no Right-to-Match cards.

MI IPL 2025 Team SquadKolkata Knight Riders (KKR) went all out to retain their star all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer, securing his services for a whopping ₹23.75 crore. This record-breaking bid makes Iyer the most expensive all-rounder in IPL history. KKR also bolstered their top order by signing explosive opener and wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock for ₹3.6 crore.
In the bowling department, KKR reinforced their pace attack by acquiring South African speedster Anrich Nortje for ₹6.5 crore and retaining Vaibhav Arora for ₹1.8 crore. On the spin front, the experienced Sunil Narine will form a partnership with Mayank Markande, signed for ₹30 lakh, adding depth to the team’s spin arsenal.
