NEW DELHI: Kagiso Rabada was acquired by Gujarat Titans for Rs. 10.75 crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction. The auction occurred on Sunday, November 24th, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Rabada, listed as a marquee player, had a base price of Rs. 2 crore.

Punjab Kings released Rabada despite his reliable performance for the franchise. He is known for his accurate yorkers and deliveries exceeding 140 kph in critical overs.

A right-arm pacer, Rabada has been a valuable asset to his two IPL teams. In 80 IPL appearances, he has secured 117 wickets at an average of 21.96 and a strike rate of 15.5.

With six four-wicket hauls and best figures of 4/21, Rabada has consistently dismantled opposition batting lineups in the IPL. His economy rate stands at 8.48.


Rabada's swift ascent in international cricket earned him an IPL contract at 21. He was purchased for INR 5 crore by Delhi Capitals (then Daredevils) in 2017.

Retained in 2019 for INR 4.2 crore, Rabada went on to take 25 wickets in 12 matches. The following year, he topped the season's wicket-taker list with 30 wickets, leading Capitals to a runner-up finish.

In his debut season with Kings, he secured 23 wickets, although the team missed the playoffs. He played only six matches in 2023 and was retained for IPL 2024, where he managed 11 wickets in 11 innings.

In 65 T20I innings for South Africa, he has taken 71 wickets with an economy of 8.30.
