IPL 2019: Dwayne Bravo ruled out for two weeks

CHENNAI: It was not the piece of news that Chennai Super Kings would have wanted to hear ahead of their IPL 12 clash against Kings XI Punjab at the MA Chidambaram Stadium here on Saturday.

Dwayne Bravo, one of the crucial members of the CSK unit, will not be available for the next two weeks. "I can confirm that it's a grade 1 hamstring strain and he's going to be out for two weeks.So, it's a big loss. Obviously, he offers so much balance to the team and he's a quality player, so it's going to cause a little bit of rejigging of the team. But, I'm sure we will still be able to put together a very strong team and yes it's a big loss for us, but we have had these challenges in the past and we've been able to overcome them. We're hoping we can do that again," Mike Hussey, CSK's batting coach said on the eve of the clash.
New Zealand allrounder Scott Kuggeleijn, who was drafted into the side in place of injured South African pacer Ngidi Lungi, could be given a go against Ashwin & Co. "Yes, he can definitely fill the void. It's about assessing the conditions and seeing which bowlers are suitable to bowling in the latter overs and if it's a real turning pitch, maybe one of the spinners can bowl at the end. I'm sure MS Dhoni and Fleming will look at Scott and assess his death-bowling skills," Hussey added.
