S Nadeem to Jos Buttler, SIX! A maximum to follow the boundary. This is excellent batting from Jos Buttler. Tossed up, he kneels down and sweeps it cleanly over backward square leg.
S Nadeem to Jos Buttler, FOUR! Straight over the bowler's head, minimum risk in that area. Fuller and flatter on the stumps, Buttler takes a step out and lofts it back down the ground. Not the best of connections, but it's enough to get to the rope.
S Nadeem to D Short, Outside off, on the shorter side again, punched off the back foot through the mid-wicket area for a run.
S Nadeem to Jos Buttler, Arm ball on leg, coming in with the angle, Buttler goes back to flick but misses and is hit on the pads. It lobs over on the off side and a leg bye is stolen.
S Nadeem to D Short, Shorter in length, spinning in from outside off, Short goes deep inside the crease and pushes it to the left of the bowler for a quick single.
We are back for the run chase. It will be D'Arcy Short and Jos Buttler to open the innings. Smart move, given Rajasthan have to go bang bang from ball one. Shahbaz Nadeem will have the new ball first up. Here we go...
Update 2325 local - So the news is that, Maxwell's wicket was the last of Delhi's innings. Play will resume at 2330 and the match will be a 12-over game. The target for Rajasthan is 151! Harsh?
Update 2315 local - Good news, folks! The covers are now coming off slowly and rain has stopped for now. Trent Boult and the other guys are seen practicing their bowling. We presume that this will be the end of the first innings. We will keep you posted of further details.
So, let's have a little recap of the innings. Delhi will be quite happy with how much they have on the board. After being put into bat, Munro was dismissed in the very first over by Dhawal, but then Shaw and Iyer started firing away. The former got out 3 short of a fifty, but the skipper continued the onslaught with Pant. The two blazed past their fifties, securing a mammoth 92-run stand between them. Unadkat then got the both of them in a single over, and then struck again in his next to get rid of Shankar. That somewhat pulled things back, but Delhi still will feel like the happier side. Now, it remains to be seen for how long the rain continues. Stay tuned for further updates...
Update 2300 local - So, Maxwell has been given out and the covers are on. The rain is back to ruin all of our nights. Expect the innings break to declared shortly.
J Archer to G Maxwell, OUT! Very strange from Maxwell. The way he took the review seemed like he got a definite inside edge, but nothing of that sort. In the blockhole from Archer on leg, Maxwell misses his flick and gets struck low on the pads. The players appeal and the umpire raises his finger. Maxwell decides to take it upstairs. Replays show us that there was no wood on it and the ball would have crashed into the leg stump.
As we wait for the third umpire, the rain has started to get heavier and the players have gone off the field.
A review for LBW has been taken up. Maxwell is the man concerned but he thinks he has got an inside edge to it as he straightaway opts for the review.
J Unadkat to G Maxwell, Hits this hard to point but finds the man there. Quickly gets to the other end to keep strike for the last over.
J Unadkat to L Plunkett, The batsman has flicked the ball off his pads. They pick up a single.
J Unadkat to L Plunkett, Slow ball outside off, Plunkett cannot put bat to ball.
J Unadkat to G Maxwell, Excellent commitment from D'Arcy Short at deep cover to save the boundary. Maxwell gives room and carves this over covers. Short saves the boundary but the batsmen run three.
Liam Plunkett joins Glenn Maxwell in the middle.
