NEW DELHI: In the third Twenty20 International (T20I) match held on Wednesday, India's captain Shubman Gill made the strategic decision to bat first after winning the coin toss.

This game is a crucial one as it is part of a five-match series, which, prior to this match, was evenly balanced with both teams having secured one win each.

The match saw some changes in the Indian squad. Notably, Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal were included in the team lineup for this encounter.

Their inclusion came after their participation in a celebratory victory parade in Mumbai, which was held in honour of India's triumph in the T20 World Cup. This suggests a strategic move to leverage their current form and morale following the global victory.

In terms of the bowling department, there was a significant adjustment made to the team composition. Khaleel Ahmed was brought into the playing eleven, taking the place of Mukesh Kumar.

This change indicates a tactical decision possibly based on the pitch conditions, the performance metrics of the players, or a combination of both factors.

The decision to bat first by the Indian skipper can be seen as a calculated move, potentially based on the conditions of the pitch, the strengths of the Indian batting lineup, and the psychological advantage of setting a target.

The inclusion of players fresh from a World Cup victory could also be aimed at bolstering the team's confidence and performance.

Playing XI:
India: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill (c), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson (wk), Shivam Dube, Rinku Singh, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed.

Zimbabwe: Tadiwanashe Marumani, Wessly Madhevere, Brian Bennett, Dion Myers, Sikandar Raza (capt), Johnathan Campbell, Clive Madande (wk), Wellington Masakadza, Richard Ngarava, Blessing Muzarabani, Tendai Chatara.
