Rohit Sharma the skipper of India says that they are going to bowl first, not much grass on this wicket but there is some moisture. Adds that it's better to have a score in front of them considering the dimensions of the ground. Informs that Virat Kohli is fit and he comes back in for Shreyas Iyer. On Jasprit Bumrah, he says that he has been a proper bowler across all formats, and it is always nice to have a bowler like him in the squad. On being asked about Rishabh Pant's wicket-keeping skills, he says that he did really well and it was quite challenging for him since the ball tends to keep moving even after passing the stumps. Concludes by saying that Lord's is one of the best stadiums in the world and they are keen to play well here.

We would have bowled first as well. A 50-50 decision to be honest. Seems like a bit of moisture and might be tricky early on, if we can survive that, we should be fine. We're going with the same team. I think we've got to move on and just think of it (the loss) as one of those off-days. We always think that batting is our main strength and one game isn't going to change it. Special time it was (World Cup win), anytime you're playing at Lord's, it's a great feeling.

We're going to bowl first. Less grass for sure but looks like there is some moisture in the pitch. Looking at the size of the ground, we thought it's better to have a score on the board. Virat Kohli comes back in for Shreyas Iyer. He's a proper bowler, no matter which the format is. GIves us a different dimension and can bowl in any phase of the game. Always nice to have a bowler like him in the squad. I thought it was quite challenging (to keep wickets), as in England, the ball tends to move even after passing the stumps. He (Pant) did take some really good catches. They were very important for us. It (Lord's) is one of the best stadiums in the world, so the guys are keen to play well here. Sun is out, so perfect conditions.

PITCH REPORT -  Graeme Swann gives us an insight into the pitch. He says that Lord's is a batting pitch usually, a cracking batting wicket. Adds that there is no grass on this wicket and there might be not much bounce as well in this game.

TOSS - India have won the toss and they have elected to BOWL first!

TOSS | India opt to bowl first
India skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to field first against England at Lord's.
17:02 (IST) Jul 14

If the pitch is anywhere close to what it was to the one at the Oval, the captain winning the toss will bowl first without a second thought. The weather in London seems only partly cloudy. We can expect no interruptions. Having said that no one can predict the weather in England, but let us hope for the best. Stay tuned for the toss and other updates.

Clearly, England need to devise a plan quickly on how to tackle Bumrah-the best approach would be to play him out safely. The sound thrashing has also shown them that the idea to prepare a green top and skittle out India can backfire badly, since the visitors now have a potent pace attack in their arsenal.
16:25 (IST) Jul 14
A batting line-up comprising Jos Buttler, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Jonny Bairstow, Jason Roy and Liam Livingstone can scare the daylights out of any bowling attack but at the Oval, the tables turned 180 degree on a seamer-friendly conducive surface.

There are bowlers, who prefer bowling up the slope and some the other way round. Managing the slope is key to success at Lord's but the current Indian team is on a roll and might just complete another series win with minimum fuss.
16:19 (IST) Jul 14
The Lord's has traditionally been a batting belter but when it comes to rookie bowlers like Prasidh Krishna, it will also be about adjusting to the famous slope of the Lord's ground.

For skipper Rohit, the 58-ball-76 is some kind of reassurance that his process has been spot-on and that he can play the high-risk pull-shot with successful percentage. A confident captain can make bold yet prudent decisions and runs under his belt will allow Rohit to be more adventurous with his decision at the Lord's.
