We are back for the final session. Of the day or of the match - remains to be seen. Murali Vijay and Virat Kohli stride out to the middle. Pat Cummins will take the ball now. Three slips and a gully in place. Here we go...

... Day 4, Session 3 ...

12:43 (IST) Dec 17

With half an hour to go for Tea, the Indian openers came out to bat. But it just took four balls for KL Rahul to walk back to the dressing room. He was cleaned up by Starc but that wasn't it. What followed was what they would cherish even more, the wicket of Pujara. 6 overs of hostile bowling was what it was. Virat Kohli and Murali Vijay at the crease now. Can they survive this attack in the last session of Day 4 on a minefield of a pitch or are we going to see India crumble? The third session in just a bit.

12:36 (IST) Dec 17

If the first session today was a passenger train, moving slow, then this second session was a bullet train, blowing away everything in its way with its speed. Tim Paine departed on the sixth ball of the session and what followed was a procession of sorts. Aaron Finch returned today but lasted all of one ball. The ones who came in left quickly too. The last wicket stand though added 36 runs and when Mitchell Starc was bowled, the lead was already 286.

J Hazlewood to Pujara, OUT! Australia have their second and the celebrations are huge. It is the big wicket of Cheteshwar Pujara. The ball is on a good length outside off and climbs onto Pujara who is looking to fend it off towards cover. The ball though, just straightens a little bit and takes a feather on its way through. Paine collects and is up in celebration almost immediately. The highest-run getter in the series is gone and this is a huge wicket in the context of the game. India need another 274 and Australia need 8.
