Former India all-rounder and batting coach Sanjay Bangar has called Jasprit Bumrah’s return for the fourth Test at Old Trafford a timely boost for India, who face a must-win clash to stay alive in the five-match series. With England holding a 2-1 lead and India still searching for their first-ever win at the venue, Bumrah’s presence could prove decisive.
Speaking on JioHotstar, Bangar said Bumrah’s inclusion brings the “ammunition” India needs, especially with conditions in Manchester expected to favour bowlers. “Jasprit Bumrah adds immense value to any team, more so to this Indian side. With him in the XI, I believe the team has the firepower to push for a win and level the series.”
He also noted that the well-spaced schedule between Tests has allowed Bumrah to recover and manage his workload efficiently. “Thankfully, the itinerary is well spread out. The break between the third and fourth Tests was long enough for any player to bounce back.”
