NEW DELHI: In a bizarre incident on Friday, a swarm of bees briefly interrupted play towards the end of the innings during the Sri Lanka-South Africa World Cup encounter, forcing the players and umpires to lie flat on the ground in Chester-le-Street.
The incident happened during the 48th over. Lankan players
Isuru Udana and Suranga Lakmal were facing Proteas pacer Chris Morris, when the play was stopped by the sudden bee attack.

Sri Lanka were soon bowled out for just 203 in 49.3 overs after losing wickets at regular intervals throughout their innings. Recalled seamer Dwaine Pretorius was the pick of the South African bowlers, taking 3-25 in his 10 overs while Chris Morris also finished with three wickets.
