Pakistan have been fined 10% of their match fee because of slow over-rate during their 21-run victory over New Zealand in the ICC World Cup league match in Bengaluru on Saturday. Pakistan's victory keeps them in contention for a spot in the semifinals.
The match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium was interrupted by rain, as Pakistan won by DLS method after being 200/1 in 25.1 overs while chasing a mammoth 402 to win.

"Richie Richardson of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees imposed the sanction after Babar Adam's side was ruled to be two overs short of the target after time allowances were taken into consideration," an ICC media release stated.

In line with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which pertains to minimum over-rate violations, players are subject to a fine of five percent of their match fee for each over not bowled within the prescribed time.
