NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday took to Twitter to encourage Indian women's World Cup squad for their "remarkable tenacity and skill" as the Indian eves suffered a heartbreaking 9-run defeat at the hands of England.

PM Modi was joined by many others as they lauded the efforts of the women in blue.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi had sent out individual wishes to each and every member of the Indian women's team. In a series of tweets from his personal handle, Modi dedicated a tweet each to the squad, which had a fairytale run at the mega-event in England.
