HYDERABAD: India women's cricket team captain Mithali Raj was felicitated at Pullella Gopichand Badminton Academy, at Hyderabad on Tuesday.
V Chamundeswaranath, a former chief selector of the junior Indian cricket team., gifted Mithali with a black BMW 320d car on Tuesday for leading India to runners-up finish at the ICC Women's World Cup in England in July.
Speaking at the occasion, Pullela Gopichand congratulated the entire women's cricket team and said that Mithali deserves the honour and congratulated the coach as well.

MaxVision super specialities, who were the sponsors, said that for the first time, women's cricket became more interesting than that of the men's team.
This is not the first time Chamundeswaranath is presenting a car to Mithali. He had gifted a Chevrolet car to her in 2007 and now for her performance with India.
Sindhu, Malik, Dipa Karmarkar and badminton coach Pullela Gopichand also got the same cars from Chamundeswari Nath. In the past, badminton players like Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap have also been gifted cars.
The Telangana government already announced a cash prize of Rs 1 crore and a house plot to Mithali.
