India vs West Indies Women World Cup Highlights: India beat West Indies by 6 wickets

Right then, West Indies Women have posted a below-par total, and will need to bowl out of their skins to defend this. India Women, on the other hand will be confident enough of chasing this down with the quality that they have in their batting line-up. Let's see how the chase unfolds.

Stafanie Taylor is up for a quick chat. She says that she feels nice to be out there and get runs but wishes that she could have been there till the end. Admits that this is not the total they wanted and before the innings they were targeting around 140 runs which would have been good against a strong Indian side. Mentions that she is not ready to bowl yet but hopefully she can before the tournament ends. Claims that the conditions should not change and they need to bowl well to restrict the opponents.

India Women would be satisfied with their overall bowling effort, but they know that they could have done a better job. They got off to the perfect start getting rid of Hayley Matthews in the second over, but could not build on that. They allowed the Windies to build a partnership. However, in the latter part of the innings they made a good comeback getting three wickets in the space of six balls which shifted the momentum towards them and also restricted the run flow. They looked a bit rusty on the field as they missed a couple of run out chances and dropped a catch as well, but were brilliant in the death overs. Deepti Sharma was the pick of the bowlers picking up three wickets and giving away just 15 runs in her four overs. She was well supported by Pooja Vastrakar and Renuka Singh who got one wicket each. Now, it is upto their batters to finish the job.

West Indies Women recovered well after losing their in-form skipper, Hayley Matthews quite early. Stafanie Taylor and Shemaine Campbelle took charge of the rebuilding job with a 50-run partnership, but both of them lost their wicket in the same over. After that no other batters were able to get going except for Chedean Nation who made a crucial contribution in the end. Taylor was their highest scorer with a well made 40. However, they just could not maximise in the death overs and crumbled under the quality bowling from India Women.

Take a bow, Deepti Sharma! She becomes the first Indian cricketer to take 100 T20I wickets, and was also key here to restrict the West Indies Women to a below-par total. However, the conditions are tough out there and it could be a tricky chase for India Women.

Renuka Singh to Shabika Gajnabi, OUT! TIMBER! Renuka Singh gets a wicket on the last ball of her spell and this has been a good penultimate over for India Women! This is bowled on a good length and angled into the stumps. Shabika Gajnabi makes room once again and swings her bat hard but misses. The leg pole is pegged back and West Indies Women find half their side back in the shed. India Women have done well to regain control of this game and will need to bowl the last over well. 

Renuka Singh to Chedean Nation, A slower delivery once again bowled on a good length and outside off. Chedean Nation knocks this towards long off for a single. 

Renuka Singh to Chedean Nation, Short this time and wide outside off, Chedean Nation clears the front foot and looks to slap this away. Gets a top edge that goes just over the point fielder and they take two runs.

The India Women's players think that there could be an edge on this and go for a review but UltraEdge shows no spike as there is a clear gap between the bat and the ball.
