Asia Cup Final: MS Dhoni completes 800 dismissals in international cricket

NEW DELHI: Mahendra Singh Dhoni became the first Asian wicket-keeper to register 800 dismissals in international cricket. Dhoni reached the milestone during the Asia Cup 2018 final between India and Bangladesh at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday. Be it under-arm flicks without looking at the stumps or whipping the bails off in a flash, the 37-year-old has proved time and again that he is arguably the best gloveman in the business. In the Asia Cup final, Dhoni pulled off two stumpings. First, he sent the well-settled Liton Das (121) back to the hut with a magnificent stumping off Kuldeep Yadav and then removed Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza (7) to achieve the incredible feat. The former India captain had 12 dismissals overall in the 2018 Asia Cup. Dhoni's counterpart in the Bangladesh team Mushfiqur Rahim signed off with 6 dismissals to his name.
