After being dismantled for 58 against the Aussies, it would have been hard for any team to recover, but Sri Lanka Under-19 picked themselves up brilliantly and looked like they wanted it more on the field. The run-outs, the catches, the stops - everything was on point, and they have given themselves a strong chance of getting the points here. It was a collective bowling effort, as everyone except Dulnith Sigera got among the wickets, with Viran Chamuditha being the pick of the bowlers with figures of 10-1-20-2, keeping the opposition under pressure throughout. It is now on the batters, who need to forget the previous game and back themselves to get the job done. Sethmika Seneviratne of Sri Lanka Under-19, who finished with figures of (10-1-31-1), says that their aim was to keep Afghanistan Under-19 under 200, and they did a great job to achieve that. Reckons that fielding made a big difference, as they created a couple of chances, and as a fast bowler, it gives you more confidence. Mentions that he really enjoys bowling with the new ball, hitting the hard lengths, and making things happen. Ends by saying that they are a good opening pair and depth in batting and is confident that they will chase this down.

Afghanistan Under-19 could not find any momentum in their innings at all. The top order, which has been impressive throughout the tournament, failed to deliver as they found themselves in trouble at 64/4. Although Osman Sadat and Aziz Mia Khil steadied things, the intent was clearly missing, and they struggled to rotate the strike regularly or find the boundary. They did add 76 runs together, but it came off 109 balls. Sadat went on to score a half-century, his second of the tournament, but once both of them were removed, the acceleration that was needed never came. Even with a quick-fire cameo from Rohullah Arab, who scored 22 off 13, they could not get past 200.

A disciplined bowling effort from Sri Lanka Under-19 against the table-toppers of Group D shows that any team in the Super Six stage can challenge anyone, which is great news for this tournament. The Lankans were not only impressive with the ball but also excellent in the field, which helped them choke the Afghans and never let them get going.
