Tanya, Gurleen, Shrishti share lead

Tanya Pandey, Gurleen Chawla and Shrishti Pandey share the lead with full four points after the fourth round in the High School group of the 7th LG Somalwar memorial Inter-School girls' chess tournament which began at the Somalwar Academy Hall in Khamla on Wednesday.

NAGPUR: Tanya Pandey, Gurleen Chawla and Shrishti Pandey share the lead with full four points after the fourth round in the High School group of the 7th LG Somalwar memorial Inter-School girls' chess tournament which began at the Somalwar Academy Hall in Khamla on Wednesday.
The annual Inter-School tournament for boys and girls in various age categories is being organized by Somalwar Academy Education Society.

In the fourth round action, top seed Tanya Pandey playing with the white pieces made light work of R Nagalakshmi in a quick fire 26-move battle as Gurleen Chawla made most of her opening advantage to outclass Pakhi Mor on the following board in 36 moves. On the third board, Shrishti Pandey playing with the black pieces defeated Utkarsha Rananware to grab full points and share the lead in the eight-round tourney.
With 3.5 points the three leaders are being followed closely by three others including youngest Women Fide Master 7-year-old Divya Deshmukh, Anannya Menkudle and Neeti Tatiya.

High School (Round 4): Tanya Pandey (4) bt R Nagalakshmi (3), Gurleen Chawla (4) bt Pakhi Mor (3), Utkarsha Rananware (3) lost to Shrishti Pandey (4), Divya Deshmukh (3.5) bt Gayatri Panbude (3), Anannya Menkudle (3.5) bt Saloni Patel (2.5), Aditi Kolhekar (2) lost to Neeti Tatiya (3.5), Vaishnavi Gole (3) bt Ketki Chansoriya (2), Akanksha Agrwal (2) lost to Khushi Gosavi (3), Mudita Tekriwal (3) bt Anubhuti Godatwar (2), Aunindita Bhattacharya (2.5) drew with Narayani Adane (2.5).
