Nagpur shuttlers off to winning start in State Sub-Junior Badminton tournament
NAGPUR: It was a fruitful day for the city shuttlers in the First
The six-day tourney is being jointly organized by Jayesh Dhuri Badminton Academy Badminton Foundation and Brihanmumbai Kreeda Aani Lalitkala Pratishthan under the auspices of MBA and
Pinak Rokde, Aditi Dhamankar, Mrunmayee Pande and Krisha Soni advanced in both the U-13 and U-15 girls singles category. Besides these four shuttlers, several other girls won their respective first round matches in the U-15 girls singles.
Kripi Sajwan, Srushti Kane, Ananya Durugkar, Aditi Tadas, Aasavari Khandekar, Mahi Ratnaparkhi, Amulya Lanjewar and Aditi Dhamankar registered contrasting victories to enter the second round.
In the U-15 boys singles, Shashank Kulal edged out Shreyas Sane 22-20, 21-17, Siddhant Bawankar ousted Siddhant Shankar 21-8, 21-12, Ojas Gedam downed Nagesh Chamle 21-16, 21-8, while Aaryan Sadhankar got the better of Yashwant Salokhe 21-16, 21-13. Shashank Kulal will play Paarth Gadkari in the second round on Tuesday.
