Eighth seed Gregoria Mariska Tunjung of Indonesia defeated qualifier Mugdha 21-11, 21-9 in the women's singles pre-quarterfinal encounter.
Facing world No. 47 Indonesian, Mugdha did well but lost in 23 minutes.
Earlier, Mugdha shocked her Indian counterpart Sri Krishna Priya Kudaravalli in straight games.
It was third time lucky for Mugdha. The eighteen-year-old had lost twice to higher ranked Sri Krishna Priya last year.
World No. 106 surprised Pullela Gopichand Academy trainee Sri Krishna Priya, world No. 61, 21-18, 21-18 in exactly half an hour.
A BA first year student of LAD College, Mugdha, a trainee of Jibi Verghese, had won two matches to make the cut for main draw in France.
