India witnessed the best day at the 18th edition of the Asian Games so far by winning nine medals including one gold, six silver and two bronze on Tuesday. Unheralded Manjit Singh surprised one and all as he pipped Jinson Johnson to claim the gold medal in the men's 800m event.

NEW DELHI: India witnessed the best day at the 18th edition of the Asian Games so far by winning nine medals including one gold, six silver and two bronze on Tuesday. Unheralded Manjit Singh surprised one and all as he pipped Jinson Johnson to claim the gold medal in the men's 800m event.
India jumped a place to secure 8th position with an overall tally of 50 medals comprising nine gold, 19 silver and 22 gold.
