NEW DELHI: Indian swimmers Tanish George Mathew, Vishal Grewal, Anand AS, and Srihari Nataraj delivered an outstanding performance by advancing to the final of the men's 4x100m freestyle relay at the Asian Games. They clocked a national record time of 3:21.22 in their heat, securing their spot in the final.

The men's 4x100m freestyle relay final is scheduled to take place today in Hangzhou at 6:18 PM local time. Tanish, Srihari, and Anand had previously been part of the team that set the national record with a time of 3:23.72 at the 2019 Asian Age Group Championships.

In addition to the men's relay success, the women's 4x200m freestyle relay team also made it to the final. They finished eighth in the heats with a time of 8:39.64, earning them a spot in the final, which will be contested at 6:36 PM local time.

Earlier in the competition, Indian swimmers Srihari Nataraj, Likith Selvaraj, Sajan Prakash, and Tanish George Matthew participated in the men's 4x100m medley relay. They clocked an impressive time of 3:40.84 in the heats, securing their place in the final.

While the Indian quartet finished overall fourth, with a gap of 6.04 seconds behind China, their performance was notable for breaking the national record set during the 2018 Asian Games. The time of 3:40.84 is India's best-ever timing in a 4x100m medley relay event, showcasing the talent and potential of Indian swimmers on the international stage.
