Souparnika: Mollywood's top TV actress

Actress Souparnika, who has been into television for the past 10 years, could captivate the hearts of crowd through her performance. And she recently donned the garb of a grey shaded charcter Mythili in the serial Balamani. Though the negative streaks did not go down well with the viewers, the audience fathomed her character further and sensed the innate innocence; they started enjoying her antics and silliness. In a recent interview the actress say that the character is a welcome change for her as a creative person.

Souparnika, has also part of the project Balaganapathi in which she portrays the character of a teacher named Sunitha, who hails from a poor family and lives for her folks. And what’s more, the character made her popular among the kids and elders too. While some of the audience called her as Mythili, kids often referred the actress as teacher. The character was a whiff of air in the actress acting career.

For Souparnika, acting is a dream comes true. It’s in her tenth grade, she acted first, in the film directed by Thulasidas, titled Avan Chandiyude Makan. The film had Prithviraj as the hero and the actress played the heroine Sreedevika’s younger sister. Eventually, she became the part of many popular films including Thanmathra and Bhagavathipuram. Along with movies, the actress has acted in about 50 serials and has played both heroines and villainous roles on the miniscreen.

Souparnika debuted as heroine through the serial Ponnoonjal in Asianet. In the sitcom Ilam Thennal aired on Surya TV, She played the role of Meenakshi who wished to study but could not. Around the time it was aired, people were extremely sympathetic towards the plight of her character and even expressed the same upon meeting me in real life. Later on Manasaputhri, the actress played a negative character named Deepa and once while the serial was telecast, she happened to visit Parassala, where she went to a shop. A group of elderly women spotted the actress and much to her surprise, they rushed towards her and hit Souparnika from behind. However the bubbly actress took it as appreciation for realistic acting.

Besides being an actor, Souparnika is a singer too. She has sung in a few devotional albums and a serial title song. Also she is planning to pursue her studies in fashion designing. Paper jewellery making is one among her serious interests and interestingly she wears her own creations in Balamani. She love to piece together ear rings and chains with pearl as well, and she has not taken any training for it yet. The actress also wants to start an online business of the same as well.
