Do you often feel tired at work and feel like napping? Well, research shows that it is actually good for you to take a quick nap instead of struggling to stay awake.

pattern dips during the afternoon hours, making you feel lethargic and sleepy. It may vary from person to person but most of us are likely to feel tired during this time. Giving your brain some time to revitalize itself and start afresh is good for you as it would improve your productivity for the rest of the day.

The fact that a lot of well-known companies around the world give their employees a nap room where they are allowed to nap, only strengthens this point. Companies like Google, Nasa and Uber actually have facilities to help their employees have a good nap.

Arianna Huffington, the founder of the Huffington Post, which is now one of the most widely read news sites around the world, is a big advocate of taking naps at work. While setting up her website, she had to put in long hours at work, which would sometimes stretch to 18 hours a day. As a result, she collapsed on her desk one day, breaking her cheekbones. The diagnosis, which was merely sleep deprivation and burnout, surprised her. Since then, she makes it a point to have eight hours of sleep every night and yes, naps at work everyday. She encourages her employees to do the same.
