The month Kharmas is considered inauspicious to conduct any auspicious tasks, especially marriages. Kharmas is followed mainly in Bihar, Jharkhand and in eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh. This is the period when Sun transits in Sagittarius and this is called Kharmas or Khar month. The beginning of Khar month starts from the middle of December and it will end on Makar Sankranti. Kharmas will start from December 16, 2022.

1. As the Sun God will be transitting in Jupiter's sign so the lord should be worshipped during this whole month.

2. Offer water to Lord Sun and chant these Mantras - 'Om Ghrani Suryaye Namah'.
3. People who have Pitra Dosha in their Kundli, can organise a Brahmin Bhoj at home on the day of Amavasya and offer clothes and food to them.
4. Offering water is considered very important during this month.
5. Taking holy bath in holy rivers has a great importance.

Kharmas 2022: Don'ts during Khar Month
1. Khar month is not considered auspicious time according to astrological calculations. This month will be beneficial for all.
2. It is forbidden to do some auspicious works at this time. People are advised not to get married in Kharmas. At this time, there can be a lack of sweetness and happiness in the marriage due to some or the other reason.
3. Buying new house, purchasing any property, starting of new new business should be avoided during this month.
4. People should not buy a new vehicle during this month.
5. People should not consume non vegetarian food and alcohol during this month.
