Since this day is devoted to Lord Ganesha, Sankasthi Chaturthi holds a special religious significance for Hindus. People observe fast and pray to Lord Ganesha on this auspicious day. 1. Take a holy bath as soon as you wake up.2. Before setting up an altar, clean your home and the puja room.3. Set up an idol of Lord Ganesha, fill a kalash with water, and light a diya with desi ghee.4. Apply haldi tilak on the forehead of Lord, decorate the idol with garland, and offer him panjiri, bananas, sweets (Boondi Laddoo) and durva grass which is very important in Sankashti fast. 5.
