Amalaki Ekadashi 2026: Date, parana time, puja rituals, mantra and significance
Ekadashi is one of the most auspicious day in Hindu religion. The day is dedicated to worship Lord Vishnu with immense devotion and purity. Devotees observe string fast on this day and offer their sincere prayers to Lord Vishnu. Ekadashi falls twice a month during Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha. There are 24 Ekadashi observances in a year. This month, Amalaki Ekadashi is being observed today, on February 27, 2026.

Amalaki Ekadashi is one of the most sacred day in Hindu religion. This day is considered as the extremely auspicious for offering prayers to Lord Vishnu. The day is purely dedicated to worship Lord Vishnu. All the Lord Vishnu devotees observe strict fast from dawn to dusk and offer their sincere prayers to him. It is believed that one who observe fats on this auspicious day get relieved from all types of sins they may have committed in the past birth and even in this birth also. This fast is extremely powerful that it can give you salvation and it can liberate you from the cycle of birth and death. This will grant wealth, happiness, success, good fortune and other desires because he is the preserver of this universe.
According to the Hindu scripture, on this sacred day, devotees should worship amla tree and offer amla to Lord Vishnu by worshipping him. Amla is known for its wonderful qualities as it represents the vitality, good health, long life and the one who worship the amla tree on the day of Amla Ekadashi gets blessed with the good health, well being and longevity. On this particular day, people should spend sometime under the amla tree and seek the blessings of Lord Vishnu.
1. Before beginning puja rites, people rise early and take a sacred bath.
2. Keep the house clean, especially the puja room.
3. Set up an idol of Lord Vishnu and the Shree Yantra on the wooden plank.
4. Light a diya with desi cow ghee and offer garland to Lord Vishnu.
5. Present tulsi dal alongside homemade sweets and panchamrit.
6. Chant the Lord Vishnu Mantra and recite Vishnu Sahasranama.
7. Recite the Amalaki Ekadashi Vrat Katha and offer the Lord bhog prasad.
8. Seek Lord Vishnu's blessings; devotees can break their fast the next day on Dwadashi Tithi.
9. People who are unable to endure hunger may break their fast by eating only the sattvik food that is recommended particular for the fast.
