Thursday is one of the most powerful day, which is dedicated to the Guru of all the deities. On this special day, female devotees observe fast to seek the blessings of Guru Brihaspati because Guru represents partner in a female horoscope so they worship Guru Brihaspati on every Thursday to seek his blessings and to get the desired husband. The day is also dedicated to worship Lord Vishnu so devotees observe fast and offer their sincere prayers to Lord Vishnu by chanting mantras, visiting temple and offering different types of bhog prasad so here we are going to mention that you should do on Thursday and seek blessings:

Observe fast

Thursday is one of the most powerful day, when specially female devotees observe fast from dawn to dusk, pray banana tree, worship Lord Vishnu and recite the Thursday vrat katha and then they break their fast in the evening after sunset by eating yellow food. It is mandatory to eat yellow food on this particular day if you are observing fast dedicated to Guru Brihaspati..!!

Worship Lord Vishnu

The day is dedicated to worship Lord Vishnu so one should offer their sincere prayers to Lord Vishnu. Take a wooden plank and place an idol of Lord Vishnu and light a diya in front of the idol, adorn the idol with yellow garland, offer fruits, dry fruits and bhog prasad (kheer, semolina halwa, panchamrit and tulsi patra) and chant mantras associated with Lord Vishnu to invoke the diol..!!

Worship banana tree

You should worship banana tree by lighting a diya with desi ghee beneath the tree, offer jaggery, chana daal and banana. Offer flowers and circumambulate around the tree seven times and tie a sacred red thread around it..!!

Chant Mantras

The day is considered extremely auspicious to appease Guru Brihaspati. Unmarried women should chant mantra associated with deity Guru and seek his blessings for the desired husband and if you are a Vishnu devotee then you can chant Vishnu mantras to appease him. Mantras are mentioned below:


1. Om Gram Greem Grom Sah Guruve Namah..!!

2. Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaye..!!

3. Hare Ram Hare Ram Ram Ram Hare Hare Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare..!!

Visit temple

Devotees are advised to visit the Lakshmi Narayan temple on every Thursday and offer yellow fruits, tulsi garland or tulsi patra, kheer, and worship them with sincerity to seek their blessings. Couples should definitely visit the temple as this will enhance their love and bring harmony in their life..!!

Wear yellow clothes

Thursdays are associated with Lord Vishnu so one must wear yellow clothes on this particular day. Yellow colour represents the new beginning, happiness, spiritual growth and abundance. You should also offer yellow clothes to Shri Hari to seek his blessings..!!
