Shani Jayanti 2022:

Shani Dev

is the Lord of Justice and Karma. Shani dev (

Saturn

) has a special place among nine main planets. Shani Jayanti is also known as

Shani Amavasya

. Shani Jayanti is dedicated to the Lord of Justice and Karma. Shani Jayanti is observed in Krishna Paksha in the month of Jyeshtha. This year, Shani Jayanti will be celebrated on Monday, 30th May 2022.


Shani Dev is the son of

Surya Dev

(Sun) and mother Swarna (Chhaya). It is believed that the mother of Shani Dev, Chhaya strictly penanced Lord Shiva when Shani Dev was in her womb. Lord Shiva was pleased by Chhaya's true devotion and dedication towards him and blessed the baby with divine powers. Chhaya, mother of Shani Dev, penanced under hot and scorching sun to please Lord Shiva, due to which, the complexion of Shani Dev turned black.


According to the Hindu Scriptures, Shani Dev is the ardent devotee of Lord Shiva. Shani Dev worshipped and pleased Lord Shiva with full dedication and devotion. Lord Shiva pleased by the devotion of Shani Dev, blessed Shani Dev with the ruling over justice and karma as a high level planet. As such Shani Dev had been authorised to do the justice for all the human beings on this earth. Shani Dev decides and do justice with the human beings on the basis of their deeds and acts i.e. Karma. As per Hindu Scriptures, Shani Dev is considered to be the ruler of Karma i.e. service and business. It is believed that the direct aspect of Shani Dev is considered to be inauspicious.

As per Hindu mythology, it is believed that once the Raavana had captured Shani Dev and kept him in his prison, and later Lord Hanuman got Shani Dev free from the prison of Raavana. Since then, Shani Dev promised that whosoever will worship Lord Hanuman, will not face any difficulty or problem during the period of Dasha, Mahadasha, Dhaiya (two and half years period) or Saadhe Saati (seven and half years period).


Shani Jayanti 2022 : Remedies


According to a renowned astrologer Nandini Sharma these are the following remedies one must do to get rid of the malefic effects of Shani Saadhe Saati, Mahadasha and Dhaiya :-

1. People must perform pooja by lighting a diya of mustard oil and put this under the peepal tree.

2. People must chant Shani Mantra 108 times while lighting a diya - 'Om Sham Shanishcharaye Namah'.

3. Take a mixture of jaggery, black sesame seeds and black gram (Black Urad Pulse) tied in a small piece of black cloth and put this in the roots of the peepal tree.

4. The devotees are advised to chant

daily to please Shani Dev.
