This day is considered as the most powerful day to honor Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The day falls every month on Chaturdashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha. Devotees observe fast from dawn to dusk and offer their sincere prayers to the Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. It is believed that people, who observe fast on this particular day, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati fulfill all the desired wishes and bless them with happiness, prosperity and good fortune.
Those, who are unable observe Solah (sixteen) Somwar fast to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati, they can observe this fast that falls every month during krishna paksha. This is an extremely sacred day and unmarried girls are advised to observe this powerful fast with devotion if they want to get the desired husband or partner. They should visit the temple for the abhishekam to shivalingam and offer shringar items to Goddess Parvati.
