Ashley St. Clair, a far-right commentator and former conservative influencer has become a common name in headlines since 2024. She went viral in February 2025, when she took to X to reveal that she had secretly given birth to billionaire Elon Musk's 13th child. "Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world.
Elon Musk is the father. I have not previously disclosed this to protect our child's privacy and safety, but in recent days it has become clear that tabloid media intends to do so, regardless of the harm it will cause," she wrote.
While St. Clair and Musk have since had a very public fallout, she has become an active media personality, particularly due to her sudden anti-MAGA stance. In a recent video posted on TikTok on May 15, she pulled the curtain on why she decided to have a baby with Elon and how the SpaceX owner completely changed after she got pregnant.
St. Clair, who became intimate with Musk in 2023, explained that at that point in her life, she was involved with MAGA and the right wing and was already a single mom. "The chances of me getting married and the white picket fence and the white dress, I believed that was out the window for me because I was already 'stained' as a single mom. But I wanted nothing more than to be a mom. I wanted more kids," she said.
The 27-year-old, who also shares a son from her previous relationship, emphasised that despite her wish to have more children, her biggest concern was economic stability. "It's difficult working and having to wonder if you're going to be able to pay the bills for your kids next month," she said. "So, when Elon was like, 'You should have kids, my only limited resource is time,' of course, it is appealing to do what I always wanted to—be a mom and not have to worry about the s--t going on in this economy."
As per her, the reasoning wasn't "crazy" due to the assurance that her kids were always "going to be taken care of."
The conversation with Musk
Thus, she and the Tesla CEO discussed her getting pregnant during a trip to St. Barts, during which she said she was ovulating. However, St. Clair also added that soon things started "getting weird."
"But as soon as I'm pregnant," she said, "this is when things start getting weird." "No one's going to believe me, but I swear he was so much more normal before I got pregnant," she emphasised.
"It was a very normal conversation. His demeanour was normal. I know I'm going to get roasted for this, but in private, he was funny. He just got so f--king weird, man."
While she alleged that Musk told her that his relationship with his other partners, with whom he co-parented with was "hunky dory", St. Clair admitted that she was apprehensive about navigating such a complicated situation.
She said she realised that "I have to keep my head on a swivel and protect myself," while struggling with the spotlight over her connection to the 54-year-old. "It's not even like I want some exclusivity with him," she explained. "I just don't want to be in this weird-ass position."
Elon Musk's children
As of now, Elon Musk has 14 children. In 2000, he married his college sweetheart Justine and welcomed five kids with her: twins Vivian and Griffin and triplets Kai, Saxon and Damian. The couple eventually got divorced in 2008.
He went on to date singer Grimes from 2018 in an on-and-off relationship. The couple had three children together, Techno Machinus (2022), X Æ A-12 (2020) and Exa Dark Sideræ (2021).
In 2022, Business Insider released court documents that stated that Elon welcomed twins with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis in November 2021. Their full names were revealed in the 2023 biography 'Elon Musk' as Strider Sekhar Sirius and Azure Astra Alice. In 2024, the couple welcomed their third child together, a daughter, Arcadia.
In February 2025, St. Clair broke the news that she had welcomed a son, whose father was Elon. Their son's name is Romulus, in honour of Rome's legendary first king and founder.
In the same month, Musk and Zillis welcomed their fourth child, a son named Seldon Lycurgus.
In a 2022 post on X, Musk said he was "doing his best to help" the underpopulation crisis. A collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilisation faces by far. Mark my words," he added, "they are sadly true."
