It's not just filmstars and models, but also youngsters who are going that extra mile to achieve an enviable body.
And, it���s not just menand women from fashion and entertainment industry voicing this idea. Evencollege-going youngsters and young professionals are gravitating towardsimproving physical attributes. No longer do they submit to the idea of livingwith unshapely endowments when there are ways of achieving a perfect body. Nosejobs, breast enhancement, cheekbone augmentation, butt-shaping, liposuction, etcare becoming as common as going for a denture clip or a manicure.Sharad Singh, an executive engineer who got his chest operatedthrough liposuction, says, ���I felt uncomfortable about my protruded chest.I had to drift the conversation if anyone pointed out at it. So, I thought thebest solution would be to get operated. Now, I feel that my masculinity has beenrestored and I am relieved of uneasy stares and prying questions.��� Thecondition is known as gynecomasia, accumulation of fat at the chest, and about15 per cent of males develop it through adulthood. There are quite afew aesthetic clinics in the city and a majority of visitors happen to beyoungsters. Dr Ashish Davalbhakta, director of an aesthetic spa clinic, says,���That���s the age when looks matters the most.
A desirable bodyimproves one���s confidence and general behaviour. It also paves a way forfitness. But, the surgeries are recommended only to adults above 18.���According to Dr Ashish youngsters usually opt for rhinoplasty (reshaping thenose), liposuction and breast augmentation. Girls and boys areincreasingly going under the knife before tying the knot. Reena Bhargav (namechanged), a software engineer, was unhappy with her bulbous nose. Just about thetime when she started receiving marriage proposals, she decided to get a nosejob done. Her parents also gave her a go-ahead. Reena says, ���A bad-shapednose can undermine the beauty of a face. When I learnt that filmstars resortedto it, I set out to know more about the surgery.��� Reena had a relativelysimple surgery and now she has decided to get rid of her double-chin. Even parents have no qualms about children desirous of having goodphysical aesthetics. Richa Menon, a mother of two, says, ���Had suchsurgeries existed in our times, I would have definitely opted for them. As longas one doesn���t coerce the body, it���s okay to go under the knife. Mydaughter could not get rid of her belly fat even after a rigorous exerciseregime. That is when we thought of liposuction.��� She further adds that asa parent one cannot bear the fact that the children suffer from inferioritycomplex because of some physical flaw. Looks like a perfect bodyis not a prerogative of supermodels anymore. A flawless facial structure and aGreek-like body can be yours too.
