In 2025, Praveen Kumar further strengthened his stature as one of India’s premier para athletes with a series of notable accomplishments. In January, he was conferred with the prestigious Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, the country’s highest sporting honour, in recognition of his historic gold medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympics. Later in the year, at the World Para Athletics Championships, he clinched a bronze medal in the men’s High Jump T64 event, clearing a season-best 2.00m to secure a podium finish at the home championship. He also asserted his dominance on the domestic circuit by winning gold at the 23rd National Para Athletics Championship 2025 with a jump of 1.86m.
