Gambhir's return to form is vital for us: Uthappa

CUTTACK: Having finally achieved the much needed consistency, the Kolkata Knight Riders are a much relaxed outfit and opener Robin Uthappa a satisfied man.
With his partnership with skipper Gautam Gambhir at the top of the order bearing rich dividends for the side, Uthappa is happy that the side is finally playing to its potential.
"It's good to win back to back matches. The bowlers have been consistent but it's good that the batsmen are finally coming good," he said after KKR's Sunday win.
With Gambhir bagging the man of the match award, Uthappa said that it was very important for the skipper to be back amongst the runs.
"His return to form was very vital. Our partnership has been good at the top. The batting bears a settled look now and that bodes well for the side," he said.
Kings XI Punjab, meanwhile, are looking to take the positives and move on.
"It's a bad loss but we would like to take the positives out of it and move on to the next game. We have to accept that on the given day Kolkata played better cricket than us," he said.
