NEW DELHI: Indian smartphone maker Intex has launched its first handset with a fingerprint sensor. Dubbed as Intex Aqua Secure, the smartphone is priced at Rs 6,499 and will be available in gold and grey colour options.
As far as the specifications are concerned, the Intex Aqua Secure features a 4.5-inch FWVGA display with 480x854 pixels resolution. Powering the handset is a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It offers 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.
The smartphone comes with dual-sim support and runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system. It boasts a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front shooter for selfies. The connectivity options of the device include 4G, LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C. It is backed by a 1,900 mAh battery.
Recently, Intex, in association with MediaTek, unveiled its iRist Pro and iRist Junior smartwatches. Both products were showcased at the Smart Cities India 2016 Expo in New Delhi.
While the Intex iRist Junior is priced at Rs 3,999, the company has not revealed any details about the pricing and availability of the iRist Pro.
The Intex iRist Junior comes with a 0.97-inch TFT display and 2G sim support. It is the first IoT (Internet of Things) based wearable and is powered by a MediaTek MT6261 processor. The watch also has IP65 rating for dust and water resistance. It is compatible with all devices running iOS and Android and packs a 580 mAh battery.
