Cameo appearances have always been an integral part of Bollywood but, of late, nearly every film boasts of an appearance by a star either at a critical juncture or for a song.
So Amitabh Bachchan solves the dispute in Paheli while Aishwarya Rai set the screen on fire with Kajra Re. Rani Mukerji made an appearance in Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham.
But Sujoy Ghosh���s Home Delivery will beat all records for not one, not two but nine guest appearances by stars like Juhi Chawla, Abhishek Bachchan, Karan Johar.

Trade analyst Komal Nahta says, "Actors often do cameo appearances for friendship's sake, a case in point being Amitabh Bachchan in Paheli."
There is already a legend in the making about how Bachchan returned Shah Rukh Khan's cheque since he did the film for personal reasons.
Cameos also help in the long run since they result in full-fledged roles. "Rani started off with guest appearances in Karan's films and is his heroine today," adds Nahta. Aishwarya's Kajra Re landed her a meaty role in Dhoom II.
Komal feels "cameos mean big money in little time as the top actors earn a crore for four days of work." He remarks, "Aamir Khan doesn't do cameos. But if he were to do one, he would get triple of what the other Khans are commanding which would be 3 crore for him."

And getting a star always helps in terms of box-office success since he/she is as an 'added attraction.' for the film.
So, who are the most most-sought after actors when it comes to cameos in Bollywood today?
"Abhishek and John Abraham are much in demand among the younger lot," reveals Komal while amongst actresses, the top ones - Preity Zinta, Kareena Kapoor are not doing special appearances with the exceptions of Rani and Aishwarya Rai.
