But it’s exhilarating to see how a mere statistic delivers poetry in motion.” The waterfall he referred to is the Seven Sisters Falls, also known as Nohsngithiang Falls, located in Sohra (formerly Cherrapunji) in Meghalaya. During the monsoon, seven distinct streams spill dramatically over a wide limestone escarpment, plunging more than 300 m into a deep gorge. The name is often associated with the seven Northeastern states, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura, adding symbolic meaning to the natural formation.The waterfall is seasonal at heart. Visit during peak monsoon, typically between June and September, and you’ll witness it in full, roaring glory.
