Robin Uthappa, nicknamed ‘The Walking Assassin’, has already played a couple of brilliant cameos for Team Pune in this year’s IPL and seems to be enjoying the stint with his new side. He has a special word of praise for captain Yuvraj Singh and says, “It has been just four matches till now, but playing under Yuvi has been real fun.
He is extremely encouraging and gives equal importance to even the young Indian players, which is a great morale booster for them.

He allows everyone to play with freedom and that makes a lot of difference.”
Uthappa is also candid enough to admit that he didn’t expect the record 2.1 million USD (approximately 9.4 crores) at the IPL auctions, “I was lucky and God has been kind.”
He is also a big prankster and shares, “It’s fun to play pranks on teammates. Last year, while travelling with Team Bangalore, my earlier team, I mimicked fellow players on the flight and clicked pictures of those who had dozed off to sleep. It was fun. This year too, I will have a lot of fun once I get to know my new teammates well.”
Is he disappointed that there are no post-match parties this time in the IPL? “Not at all. There are many other ways to chill out and enjoy, and I am spending quality time with my teammates and going out for meals together. I also read a lot when there is no cricket. As of now, my sole focus is on doing well and making a comeback to Team India,” says Robin.
