‘Gudi Padwa is all about culture, traditions and a new start’

For Priya Bapat, Gudi Padwa is a day to celebrate the essence of culture and togetherness. “Irrespective of whether I am working or not, I love waking up early on Gudi Padwa, preparing to hoist the Gudi and doing puja before starting the day’s routine. For me it’s not just the beginning of the New Year but also a time to unite and celebrate our culture,” said Priya Bapat who was in town recently for Tanishq event. While on other days, the actress may rock a variety of outfits, on Gudi Padwa, a traditional sari is her go-to outfit.

Carrying forward festive practicesPriya says that she loves celebrating all festivals with equal zest. “I have grown up watching my parents celebrate every festival in the most authentic way. For Gudi Padwa, they would wake up early and start preparing. It’s perhaps why I do the same,” she smiles, adding,
