Are you loading your dishwasher the right way? here’s what actually works

There’s no denying that appliances can ease every trouble of life, especially home chores that are not just daunting but also time-consuming. One such appliance is a dishwasher, and if you too own one, then you must sit back and read on, as we have curated some small hacks that can easily help you use a dishwasher in the right way!

2/5

Are you using it in the right way?

Dishwashers can make your life simple, but only when you use them the right way, and it all begins with the right way of loading it with utensils. Many people think they are doing it in the right way, but despite cleaning, spots and grease remain on the utensils. Well, it is not the efficacy of the device; rather, it has something to do with the way you use it. Here are some simple hacks that help in cleaning the dishes effectively and save time and water.

3/5

What does your dishwasher need to work?

Dishwashers use hot water and their special nozzles spray water and detergent inside the cabinet and a drying cycle to get your dishes clean. It cannot work magic if your plates are stacked too close together; this is why it is advised to never block the dishwasher arms' spray with too many utensils. You need to leave room for

water and steam room to reach all the surfaces of your dishes without them bumping into each other or falling over.

4/5

Where to put small items?

The bottom part of the dishwasher is for big heavy things like dinner plates, side plates, bowls, pots and pans. You should always put the plates standing up between the sticks facing the middle and a little bit tilted down so the water can run off. Big bowls and pans should go towards the back, tilted towards the sprayers and smaller plates can fill in the gaps in the front. The top part is for things like glasses, mugs, cups and plastic containers, all put upside down so the water can drain out.

5/5

How to handle bowls, mugs and glasses

The inside of bowls and mugs should always face the middle of the dishwasher, not the sides. If they face the outside, the water might not get inside. Leave greasy stuff behind, always tilt them down a bit so the water can drain out and do not stack them inside each other. If you do stack them, the top one might get clean.
