That being said, while many events from Edward VIII’s abdication to Prince Charles’ infidelity have come to light with factual evidences and have been proven without any loose ends, there are many that are yet to be solved and have a lot of theories tied to it.

Queen Elizabeth I was a man

Known to have defeated the Spanish Armada during her reign, Queen Elizabeth I was one of the longest reigning monarchs in the British history after the current Queen Elizabeth II. Although not entirely a conspiracy theory, but the idea of the Queen being a male imposter has been much debated about throughout the centuries. This theory was first introduced in a book called “Famous Imposters” by Bram Stoker, author of the book “Dracula”. According to him, the real Queen Elizabeth had died at an early age due to a plague. However, to avoid the wrath of King Henry VIII, Elizabeth’s caretakers decided to replace her with a similarly aged boy.

Queen Victoria's grandson Prince Albert Victor was ‘Jack the Ripper’

‘Jack the Ripper’ was one of the most wanted but unidentified serial killers during the late 1800s. While it was never proven but many claimed and suspected Prince Albert Victor a.k.a. Prince Eddy, grandson of Queen Victoria, to have been the killer. According to the New York Times, a surgeon who said he knew the identity of the killer died in 1970, and claimed Jack the Ripper was “a scion of a noble family.”

Prince George’s mysterious air crash and death

Prince George was the fourth son of King George V and Queen Mary. Known to have been a part of the Royal Navy in the 1920s, he also served his country during the World War II. It was then when his plane met with an accident, leading to his death.

Following the mysterious air crash, it was said that the all the official papers pertaining to flight had disappeared leading to a myriad of conspiracy theories. While some claim the involvement of the British Intelligence, others blame it on the Nazis. Either way, the Prince lost his life and the mystery remains to be unsolved. However, the theory seemed to have some substance, when reportedly, the sole survivor of the plane crash "signed an Official Secret Act" forbidding him from revealing any details about what occurred during the accident.

King Edward VIII’s association with the Nazis

In a book by Andrew Horton called the ’17 Incarnations’, it was claimed that Edward VIII and his wife, Wallis Simpson were involved with the Nazis, even during World War II. Besides this, Horton through his book also tries and prove the alleged affair between Wallis Simpson and the then Foreign Minister of Nazi Germany, Joachim von Ribbentrop. While Edward VIII’s pro-Nazi ideas have been well documented throughout history, his failed plot to overthrow the British crown during World War II is yet to be proven.

Death of Princess Diana

One of the most talked about and the biggest conspiracy theories tied to the British Royal Family up until today is the death of Princess Diana in 1997. Following the tragic accident that lead to the demise of not only Princess Diana but also her boyfriend Dodi Fayed, many people came up with different conspiracy theories, of which none have been proven. One of the theories claimed that the accident was orchestrated by the Royal family in order to prevent Diana from marrying Dodi, a Muslim and to stop her from giving birth to his child, another theory, which is also not yet proven. However, Associated Press reported that there was no evidence that she was pregnant at the time or contemplating marriage to Fayed.

Harry’s and Meghan’s wedding is a British ploy to take over America

The most recent conspiracy theory is linked to the royal power couple, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. It is said, that the matrimonial union between the two is just a way to take control of America. According to a tweet on November 27, 2017 by Greg Pollowitz, an editor at conservative site Twitchy.com, “Prince Harry's kids will be Americans,” he wrote. “What if one grows up to be president and is in line for the throne a t the same time? Brits are playing long-ball here, but it's a smart move. They want America back and this is how they'll do it.”
