For centuries, royal families have been associated with a life of luxury, a pool of fame and fortune passed down through generations. They’ve either been seen as annoyingly privileged and/or criticized for fending off of the taxpayer’s money for a living. But much has missed the eyes of the public in the recent years. From Princess Beatrice of York to Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana of Thailand, many royals have taken it upon themselves to change the existing perceptions towards the regal lifestyle and have chosen to build a career that goes beyond their royal identity.

Princess Beatrice of York is a Vice President of a software company

Princess Beatrice is one of the most talked about royals in the recent times. Following her wedding in July, she remained in the eyes of the public for quite a while. But what people don’t know about her, is that she is the current Vice President of a software company called ‘Afiniti’. Prior to her current position, the Princess also worked as an analyst for Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. until 2015.

Princess Eugenie of York works as an art director

After earning a degree in English literature, art history, and politics back in 2012, Princess Eugenie of York began working for auction house Paddle8 in New York City, as per US Weekly. Following that, she moved back to London and worked as an associate director at an art gallery Hauser & Wirth, where in 2017, she was promoted to the position of the art director.

Prince Philippos of Greece and Denmark is a hedge fund manager

Having been a part of the prestigious Georgetown University in Washington DC, Prince Phillippos of Greece and Denmark specialises in the field of finance. Since 2014, he has been working as an analyst and a hedge fund manager at an alternative investment group, called Ortelius Capital.

Princess Sirivannavari is the only daughter of King Vajiralongkorn and his former consort Sujarinee Vivacharawongse of Thailand. Besides being a part of the royal family, she is also a successful fashion designer and owns a self-established fashion brand that goes by the name ‘Sirivannavari’.

Princess Märtha Louise of Norway is an author and entrepreneur

When it comes to working royals, Princess Märtha Louise of Norway holds a significant place in the list. Not only does she maintain her place in the line of succession to the Norwegian throne, but she also is a certified physiotherapist. Besides that, she is also an author, who wrote her first children's book in 2004 called "Why Kings and Queens Don’t Wear Crowns". That’s not all. She is also an entrepreneur who runs a commercial entertainment business specializing in Norwegian folklore.

Prince Nikolai of Denmark is a full-time model

The 20-year-old, Prince Nikolai of Denmark works as a full-time model. In 2018, he debuted at the London Fashion Week and has walked for the likes of brands like Dior. However, unlike the other royals, Prince Nikolai make his way into the professional world, as, being the seventh in the line of succession, he will not receive any material fortune from his grandmother Queen Margrethe II.

Prince Nazım Ziyaeddin Nazım Osmanoğlu is a stand-up comedian

Well, many would think it to be an unusual job for a Prince to be a stand-up comedian, but the Şehzade (Prince) of the Imperial House of Osman does not believe so. Although born and brought up in the United Kingdom, the imperial Prince Naz Osmanoglu holds 17th place in line to the throne. His comedy goes from his jokes about his royal ancestry to the British monarchy. One of his famous solo shows was even called, “Ottoman without an Empire”.

Princess Michael of Kent is a biographer and novelist

Born to Baron Günther von Reibnitz and Countess Maria Szapáry von Muraszombath, Princess Michael of Kent belongs to the Hungarian and German nobility. After marrying Prince Michael of Kent, she became a part of the British Royal Family. However, besides her royal affiliations, she is also a biographer and an author. According to her website, the princess has released seven books, including three works of historical nonfiction and "The Anjou Trilogy", a fictional series.
