As Punjab battles the aftermath of devastating floods, Reliance Foundation, together with Reliance Retail, Jio and Vantara, has launched a ten-point humanitarian response to support the hardest-hit communities. The relief effort, developed in coordination with the state administration, district authorities and local panchayats, is reaching out to more than 10,000 families in Amritsar, Sultanpur Lodhi and surrounding areas with urgent supplies and services.
Announcing the initiative, Anant Ambani, Director, Reliance Industries Limited, underlined the organisation’s commitment to stand with Punjab in its hour of need.
“Our heart goes out to the people of Punjab in this hour of suffering. Families have lost homes, livelihoods, and a sense of security. The entire Reliance family is standing with them, providing food, water, shelter kits, and care for both people and animals. This ten-point plan reflects our deep belief that We Care. We are committed to walk alongside Punjab through this difficult time,” he said.

The structured plan covers a wide spectrum of relief needs:
- Nutrition support: dry ration kits containing essential food supplies are being distributed to 10,000 families across flood-affected areas.
- Voucher assistance: cash vouchers worth ₹5,000 each are being extended to 1,000 vulnerable households, particularly those led by single women and the elderly.
- Community kitchens: ration supplies are enabling the operation of community kitchens, ensuring freshly cooked meals for displaced families.
- Safe drinking water: portable water filters have been deployed in waterlogged villages to reduce the risk of contamination and waterborne diseases.
- Emergency shelters: shelter kits with tarpaulins, ropes, mosquito nets, groundsheets and bedding are being distributed to families forced to leave their homes.
- Public health management: awareness sessions are being conducted and water sources disinfected to prevent the spread of post-flood illnesses.
- Sanitation kits: every affected household is receiving hygiene packs with essential items to maintain basic health and cleanliness.
- Livestock care: veterinary camps are providing medicines and vaccines, while 3,000 silage bundles are being distributed to feed nearly 5,000 cattle.
- Animal rescue and management: Vantara’s expert team is rescuing and treating displaced animals, while also supporting dignified cremation of deceased livestock to prevent secondary disease outbreaks.
- Connectivity restoration: Jio teams have worked with disaster response agencies to restore network services, ensuring reliable communication across affected zones.
Reliance Retail is also supporting the effort by sending curated ration and sanitation kits with 21 essential items, distributed through local panchayats to families in greatest need.
The Reliance Foundation emphasised that the effort goes beyond emergency supplies, with teams working around the clock to stabilise communities, restore services and support longer-term recovery in partnership with state and district administrations.
