Signs your love is one-sided

Are you in a one-sided relationship?

One-sided love is very painful. Relationships may not always be very balanced as one person ends up loving another way more. And that’s when feelings of disappointment, insecurity and needs arise. It can be emotionally and physically exhausting to be the only one who loves in a relationship. It’s important to identify if you’re in such a relationship. Here are some of the telltale signs of being in a one-sided relationship. Let’s have a look.

2/6

They aren’t there for you when you need them

Has your partner always been there for you, when you need them? If the answer is mostly no, then chances are high that they don’t care as much as you care about them. Feelings should be balanced in a relationship and if one partner requires the presence of another in difficult times, they should be there for each other.

3/6

There are no efforts from their side

When your partner doesn’t or stops putting any effort into the relationship, it is a sign they don’t love you anymore. Efforts come naturally when both partners love each other. In such cases, you feel like it’s entirely upon you to push the relationship forward.

4/6

Plenty of excuses

You will end up giving excuses on your partner’s behalf about their lack of attention or absence from the relationship and your life. The day you begin handing out excuses to cover up for your partner, that’s the day you should be able to realise that you’re the only one in the relationship.

5/6

You’re the one with apologies

You will find yourself being the one who’s always apologising for all the problems and issues in the relationship. You will find yourself at the receiving end of a lot of stress and guilt, even if you have done nothing wrong.

6/6

You communicate your problems to others more

If you’re more comfortable talking about your problems and difficulties with friends and family, and not with your partner, then you’re likely to feel quite alone in the relationship. Your partner may not love you enough, to make you feel at ease about expressing your feelings and concerns.
