Married men tell us why they take so long in the bathroom

It is a widespread complaint amongst married couples that their husband is always on the pot and takes more than an hour in the bathroom. So, we spoke to some married men who anonymously agreed to tell us the real reason why they take so long in their bathrooms.

I don’t have to help with the house chores `

“It sounds selfish but yes I do it. I hate doing certain house chores and my wife expects me to do it everytime. To avoid it all, I run to the bathroom with my phone and don’t come out until I know I am good. I do not like washing utensils or dusting and my wife leaves exactly those two for me. We cannot afford a maid right now because we have just started out on our own."

To complete my sleep

“Ever since we had kids, we have always been sleep deprived. I work from home while my wife goes to the office. On the days she is home, I love spending my time in the washroom because it is nap time for me. My wife knows but she never called me out on it. My kids don’t jump around, no one calls for me, and my nap on the pot is the best time during the day.”

I tinder swipe

“I spend my time using Tinder on the pot. It gives me this weird thrill. I have never acted on it but I do enjoy reading the seductive to silly bios on the profiles. I have even seen my neighbours on it. When someone swipes right on my profile, it sort of gives me a sort of validation. This time is also the quietest time for me during the day which I utilise to zone out and just chill. I sometimes use that time to speak to my female friends because my wife gets all jealous and what not for no reason. It is my way of escaping the madness.”
